XMAS RIDE 2019
For the fourth year straight we celebrate the end of the year with a casual spin through the city with friends.
Just like we have for the last few years, the week before Christmas played host to our fourth annual Xmas Picnic Ride – this year celebrating everything Italian. Things started as they normally would, with a casual meet up and chat in a central location, the lawn besides Melbourne’s rowing houses now the traditional place of congregation.
With this ride we paid homage and retraced our steps through our earliest cycling memories of Melbourne, starting off with a few kilometres along the old Park Laps course. After crossing the river we zig zagged through Melbourne’s famous sporting complex and up into Collingwood, Fitzroy, then onto Carlton.
As mentioned earlier we wanted to celebrate Christmas the Italian way, in a real authentic Buon Natale type way. Fortunately this made it super easy to link up with the crew at DOC Pizza Carlton.
Turns out all the ragazzi there are mad Fixie Goons, no kidding. They were only happy to help put on a nice picnic on the lawn outside, making it real special for us.
